Odds are, my problem with erectile dysfunction is not exactly the same as yours. Mine started at a different time in the past, and that I have a different underlying condition that triggered this sexual disorder as well.

Regardless of when it happened or the culprit, difficulty in getting and maintaining an erection can set off a series of terrible self-loathing situations, from the lack of confidence to complete avoidance of having a relationship.

If you had already been in a relationship when the problem hit you, things could get uncontrollably messy unless you have support from your partner in looking for effective treatment.

It is a little bit strange that we are often in denial about erectile dysfunction – which leads to refusal (or more likely reluctance) to find a solution – when in reality, treatment options are available.

Erectile dysfunction is neither new nor uncommon; millions of men suffer from the same problem as we do. More importantly, many (if not most) of them have found the appropriate medications to deal with the persistent issue.

I can also say that I am lucky in this regard, as I have come across the right treatment and been able to function properly as a man, as nature intended.

I am not saying that my solution to erectile dysfunction will undoubtedly be 100% effective for you because everybody has specific preferences and medical history.

However, there can be few medications that work for all. In case you’ve been spending time looking all around and trying many different products to restore masculinity, you are in for a treat.

Up until several years back, I had never heard of a company called BlueChew. The company has been around since 2014 and offers only prescription-based science-backed proven-effective medications to treat erectile dysfunction.

What Is BlueChew?

First things first, BlueChew is an online telemedicine service company rather than a pharmacy. It specializes in providing treatment for men with erectile dysfunction, who, at the same time, are uncomfortable with direct consultation at a doctor’s office and going to a pharmacy to purchase commercially available medications.

The service is for any individual male aged 18 years or older in the United States currently looking for effective erectile dysfunction medications. Before you purchase or subscribe to the service, there are things to consider:

  • You need a prescription to use BlueChew’s erectile dysfunction treatment. But you’ll get it online through BlueChew’s portal.
  • Every patient who signs up for BlueChew service must provide the most recent blood pressure reading for the physicians to review. Based on the medical information, BlueChew’s physician can prescribe the right medication. Only licensed physicians can prescribe your prescription, and that is why medical records from your primary care doctor are necessary.
  • At this time, BlueChew service (or delivery) is available only in the United States except in North Dakota, South Carolina, and the United States territories. Physicians licensed in those states CANNOT legally provide an online prescription. There can be a workaround, but you may need to discuss your situation with the BlueChew Support Team.
  • Health insurance does not cover BlueChew services.
  • Physicians working at BlueChew or associated with it do not replace your primary care doctor.

It may take up to 2-business days until an approved provider reviews your complete profile. The good thing is that the BlueChew Support team is always ready to help if you do not receive a confirmation email within that time or if you have any other problem regarding your account.

There are only three active ingredients on the BlueChew site:

  • Sildenafil
  • Tadalafil
  • Vardenafil

All are FDA-approved active ingredients for erectile dysfunction treatment, but since the BlueChew chewables are compounded tablets, they are not FDA-approved. The FDA doesn’t regulate compounded medications.

Does BlueChew Work?

Whether or not a product or drug is effective in treating any medical condition depends mostly on the ingredients and the individual patient’s physiology. BlueChew only comes in three major variants, including Sildenafil, Tadalafil, and Vardenafil; all are PDE5 inhibitors and have been subjects of various clinical studies and experimentations with positive results for men of all age groups.

Studies have found them to be generally safe and well-tolerated medications for erectile dysfunction in all adult males. However, there can be side effects either because of the tablets, interactions with other drugs, or underlying conditions.

Just like with any medication, consult your doctor regarding potential adverse events and mention every other medication you’re taking in BlueChew’s health form.

Features and Benefits

Before we discuss further the way BlueChew works, first, you must understand about male reproductive organ and the basic mechanism of an erection.

Anatomy of the Penis

The longest part of a penis is the shaft. The glans or head is at the end of it. At the tip of the head, there is an opening – meatus – for semen and urine to come out.

Inside the shaft, there are two chambers (shaped like cylinders) that run through the length of the penis; these chambers are known as corpora cavernosa and are filled with a network of blood vessels along with tissue and open pockets. Two main arteries and several veins are located inside the chambers (one artery each).

Before semen and urine find their way out of the penis, passing the meatus, they flow through a tube called the urethra that runs along the underside of corpora cavernosa. The urethra is surrounded by corpus spongiosum, which is a mass of spongy tissue located below the pair of corpora cavernosa.

The spongy tissue contains about 90% of the blood volume during an erection.

Basic Process of Erection

Some of the first mechanisms that trigger an erection happen in the brain.

When you see, smell, touch, hear, feel, or think of something sexually arousing (anything your brain considers sexually exciting enough), nerves in the brain begin to send chemical messages to the blood vessels located in the penis.

Such messages tell the arteries to relax and, therefore, open for a volume of blood to flow inside; the veins close up at the same time. As the arousal continues, blood keeps flowing in.

As it happens, pressure traps the blood inside the corpora cavernosa so that the penis expands and becomes firmer. Because the veins remain in a closed position, the penis can hold the erection as well—sperms from testes build up at the back of the urethra.

At the height of sexual excitement, the urethra sends signals to the spinal cord, which then forwards the signals to the muscles at the base of the penis. These muscles contract quickly and powerfully every 0.8 seconds.

The contraction forces sperm out of the penis, hence ejaculation. Eventually, the flow of blood into the arteries will stop, and the veins open. At this point, the penis becomes soft again.

About Erectile Dysfunction

Not every man can get an erection regardless of the sexual arousal exposure he receives. In some cases, an erection does happen, but it is not sufficient enough to acquire a satisfactory sexual performance.

Either way, the condition is known as “male erectile dysfunction,” and the prevalence of it is quite staggering. In a publication by Current Sexual Health Reports, erectile dysfunction is the most common male sexual disorder.

It does appear that the condition is also associated with age. Of men aged 60 – 69 years old, 44% of them suffer from erectile dysfunction. About 70% of men aged 70 years and up also have the condition. In men aged 40 years or younger, only about 5% of them develop this sexual disorder.

The condition has been on rapid growth. In 2000, there were about 150 million cases of erectile dysfunction worldwide, according to a publication by Therapeutics and Clinical Risk Management—the same study expected to observe at least twice that amount in 2020.

Treatment with Sildenafil, Tadalafil, and Vardenafil

On the molecular level, the mechanism of erection depends mainly on the presence of nitric oxide, which acts as the primary neurochemical mediator to increase the production of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP).

However, there are also eleven families of phosphodiesterase enzymes (PDE) in the penis that continually breaks down the production of cGMP. Of all those families, the most abundant type in the penis is PDE5.

By limiting the presence of PDE5 in the penis, cGMP may remain in place after production, so men – despite erectile dysfunction – can treat the condition, albeit temporarily. In other words, erectile dysfunction is treatable using PDE5 inhibitors.

Some of the most commonly available PDE5 inhibitors in the United States include Sildenafil and Tadalafil. The former has been available since 1998, while the latter earned FDA approval in 2003. BlueChew services contain these two medications.

In a sildenafil vs. placebo study published by the Journal of Sexual Medicine involving 11,364 men of several age groups (under 65, 65-74, and 75 years and up) with erectile dysfunction, sildenafil was found to significantly show improvements in all five domains used in the International Index of Erectile Dysfunction.

These domains include erectile function, orgasmic function, intercourse satisfaction, overall satisfaction, and sexual desire. Furthermore, improvements were observed in each age subgroup. Even in the age subgroup consisting of subjects aged 75 years and up, sildenafil was effective and tolerable.

Bear in mind that the study was conducted to compare the efficacy of sildenafil against a placebo instead of any other FDA-approved drug. If you still need some more convincing, the study was not the only one ever done.

Numerous data have been published to confirm not only the efficacy but also the safety of sildenafil as a treatment for erectile dysfunction. Even before the medication was approved, there had been a 6-month evaluation with human subjects in which the result was also positive.

Adverse events were mostly mild to moderate in severity, for example, flushing, headache, rhinitis, and dyspepsia.

Another double-blind Pfizer-sponsored study involving 4819 patients who received sildenafil and 3296 patients who received a placebo also confirmed the previous conclusion. Besides, the data showed that sildenafil was well-tolerated among patients on multidrug regimens, including antihypertensive medications.

FDA approved tadalafil as an oral treatment for erectile dysfunction in 2003.

In the following year, BJU International published a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled research in which 2102 men who have mild-to-moderate erectile dysfunction participated.

Subjects who took tadalafil instead of a placebo reported significantly better outcomes in the International Index of Erectile Dysfunction, especially in the erectile function domain.

The study found that tadalafil was effective up to 36 hours after dosing, regardless of the severity and causes of erectile dysfunction in patients of all age groups. Common side effects were headache, back pain, myalgia, and dyspepsia, but most were mild-to-moderate as well.

Based on the results of various high-quality studies, it is now clear that tadalafil can deliver consistent positive outcomes in the management and treatment of erectile dysfunction. A daily dose of tadalafil shall provide beneficial effects on the sexual relationship between partners.

Is BlueChew Safe?

Science agrees that sildenafil, tadalafil, and vardenafil are safe and effective treatments for erectile dysfunction. This is not to say that the medications cannot trigger adverse reactions, especially when patients take them larger than the recommended dose or in combination with other drugs.

BlueChew Review

Assuming you choose BlueChew Sildenafil Plan, it should be safe as long as you consume one dose as needed, even when you are at the same time taking antihypertensive medications or under multidrug regimens.

PDE5 inhibitors (including tadalafil) are generally safe to consume with other antihypertensive drugs. While there have been cases of blood pressure reduction in patients under this multidrug regimen, the reduction was mild in all of them.

That being said, you must take BlueChew with precaution. Everybody may react to any particular medication differently depending on underlying conditions (if any), physical activities, and types of other drugs/supplements in the metabolism system.

BlueChew side effects, either sildenafil, tadalafil or vardenafil plan, may trigger side effects including:

  • Headache
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Muscle pain
  • Back pain
  • Heartburn
  • Upset stomach
  • Flushing

Always consult your primary care physician concerning possible interactions between the medication you are currently taking and BlueChew.

If, after taking BlueChew erectile dysfunction treatment, you develop symptoms of an allergic reaction such as sneezing, coughing, watery eyes, hives, or itching, call 911 or emergency medical service.

Is BlueChew Legit?

Yes, it is. BlueChew is essentially an online portal for any individual adult male in the United States with erectile dysfunction to receive medications. Bear in mind that every state has different regulations regarding the legality and procedure of online prescriptions.

As long as you live in a state that approves telemedicine practices, BlueChew has licensed physicians to provide the prescriptions you need. Of course, approval is based on the medical records you provide during registration. Your primary care physicians should keep your medical record and give it to you when you ask for it.

bluechew sildenafil plans

Since BlueChew treatment consists of either sildenafil, tadalafil, or vardenafil, the medication does work. In terms of efficacy, there is zero difference between the three– they are equally effective as erectile dysfunction medication with only mild-to-moderate side effects. The distinguishing characteristic is the recommended daily dose and delivery mechanism.

  • Sildenafil and Vardenafil are on-demand oral treatments; you only have to take them when you need them.
  • Tadalafil, on the other hand, is a once-daily medication. Tadalafil is the only PDE5 inhibitor safe for daily consumption at a lower dose.

No matter which BlueChew plan you choose, the treatment should work regardless of your age. In many of the studies discussed in the previous section, sildenafil, tadalafil, and vardenafil are effective for all patients of all age groups who participated in clinical trials.

Erectile dysfunction can happen to any man of any age. The condition does not discriminate against patients based on how old or young they are. Still, thankfully years of scientific studies involving real human subjects have proven that sildenafil and tadalafil – the very essence of BlueChew treatment –  can do wonders for all men who have erectile dysfunction.
